As we practice social distancing and stay home, please remember that this will be a very stressful time for everyone. This means that you will likely see increased stimming. Stims are often done to help an autistic person self-regulate and we should not be forcing them to stop. Some stims are not safe and may occur when an autistic person is in distress or in sensory overload. It's important that you take time try to understand what the individual is getting from these stims so that we can teach them replacement stims that will help them self-regulate without causing harm.
