Conferences are a wonderful source of information and a chance to meet other parents. BISD and CSISD may offer yearly stipends to help parents of special needs children pay to attend a conference that pertains to your child's disability. Contact your school's special education dept. to inquire about a parent stipend. In BISD, the person to contact is Joanne Lerma at joanne.lerma@bryanisd.org. In CSISD, please contact Robin Miller at rmiller@csisd.org. You must request the funds several weeks before the conference.
